London Open City

Electric Piers CIC have been invited to be guest curators of London Open City Festival 2023. We have developed a collection of buildings and spaces to commemorate the Windrush Generation’s contribution to London over the past 75 years, since the arrival of the Empire Windrush in 1948. The buildings and spaces in the Electric Piers collection are:
 

• New Beacon Books

• Black Cultural Archives

• The Africa Centre

• A commemorative walk around sites of remembrance around Lewisham

• The Huntley Room (Friends of the Huntley Archives at LMA) at London Metropolitan Archives

• The Yaa Centre – Carl Gabriel’s studio

• Hackney Archives and Museum
